Schuyler was born October 24, 1952 in Houston, TX to the late Talmage W. and Jeremiah B. (Van Rensselaer) Quick. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1970; earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with emphasis on Social Work from the University of South Dakota in 1976; Master’s Degree in Sociology with emphasis on Gerontology/Hospice from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1985. Schuyler worked as a social worker for the Clark County (Nevada) Social Services for 12 years and the Clark County Public Guardian for 11 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Logan, Iowa Christian Church.

Schuyler was a free spirit and she did not know a stranger. She made friends wherever she might be in her life’s journey. Not only was she a friend to all the people she encountered, but she was an animal lover also. Her pets were her children, and she protected them like a mother would.

In addition to her parents, Schuyler was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Alice Quick.

Schuyler is survived by her brother, Talmage Quick; nephew, Talmage Quick, Jr. both of Council Bluffs; and special friend, John Flores of Mondamin.
