I taught at AL until 1974,
although for part of that time I served a term in the Iowa General
Assembly.  I used to tell my students to be involved in the political
process, and I practiced what I preached.  I lost... probably
due to
Watergate,
in 1974, and taught a semester at Kirn, until I went into insurance
sales for a
short time.  In 1977, I left Council Bluffs to run a chamber of commerce
 in
Harlan, and stayed in that career until I moved back to Council Bluffs
in 1994,
running Chambers in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wyoming.  During
that time I was also married, and divorced, and adopted two daughters...
 my ex's
children from a previous marriage.
 I came back
into the area in
1994, and initially was City Administrator in Rock Port, MO.  After one
year I came back to Council Bluffs due to health problems in my family,
and in
1996, I started as a real estate representative with N P Dodge Real
Estate.  I retired from Real Estate, worked part time for Bass Pro, and
then got married to Marilyn Miller from Atlantic in October, 2008, and I
 moved
to Atlantic with her.
