Funeral services for Robert William Pitt, 25, of Winterset will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the McCurdy Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert O. Boseck, assocciate pastor of First Christian Church, will officiate. Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Pitt, a native of Council Bluffs, was found dead at Winterset Friday, June 3, 1977. Death was due to apparent self-inflicted hanging, McCurdy Funeral home was told.

He was a 1970 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, and an Army veteran. He was employed in Winterset and had moved there about three years ago.

Survivors include his father, Eldred W. Pitt of Council Bluffs; mother and stepfather Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Elgan of Council Bluffs; brother Mark Elgan, and sister Kimberly Elgan, both of Council Bluffs; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Stapleton of Rogers, Ark.

Visitation at the local mortuary will be possible after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
