Do you remember
the week of May 26 thru June 3, 1970?
What music was playing on the radio then?
I have received the following comments from fellow classmates:
"I had forgotten about the list KOIL used to put out--I'd even forgotten that the d.j.'s were called the good guys! Boy, do those songs bring back memories."
"Sometimes when I hear those songs, it's just like I'm that age again, full of the same feelings I felt then."
"We were just talking today at lunch about how certain songs remind us of certain events in high school or certain classmates."
"They just don't make music like this anymore."
"Plenty of toe-tapping memories."
"This [CD] is full of those elusive "perfect oldies"... those I remember but haven't heard it in ages ("Mississippi" by John Phillips was the wow factor for me, taking me right back to that time in 1970)."
These comments inspired me to put together a CD with the sounds of the music we grew up with. I have taken the KOIL Good Guy's List and the KRCB Music List from the week we graduated and put them on a CD in MP3 format. I chose this format to make it easy to download into your personal iPOD, MP3 player, PDA, or computer for your listening pleasure. Included as a bonus on the CD is the Billboard Top Ten songs for 1970 and America's Top 20 TV Favorites Theme Songs for 1970. You will also receive a printed copy of the KOIL Good Guy List, the KRCB Music List, Billboard Top Ten List, and America's Top 20 TV Favorites list. In all, there are 208 tracks with a total playing time of 5 hours and 6 minutes.
The cost for this CD is $10.00 which includes postage. Proceeds from the CD will go to the ALHS Class of 1970 Reunion Fund to help with future reunions.
If you would like to remember the songs that were popular when we graduated and would like to help support your class and future reunions, order your CD now and join these classmates.
