Marlee Catherine (Haworth) Jensen was born on April 4, 1952 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to parents Floyd and Mary (Damery) Haworth. She grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1970. Marlee then attended Iowa Western Community College and graduated with her associates in business. She went to work for Woodmen Life Insurance Company in Omaha. In June of 1971, Marlee married Larry Jensen in Council Bluffs. She moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1984. While in Colorado she continued to work as an Administrative Assistant. Marlee moved to Woodbine in 1997 where she worked as a secretary at the Woodbine Community Schools until retiring in 2014. After retirement, she worked at Foodland Grocery Store in Woodbine.

     Marlee was a member of the Woodbine First United Methodist Church and volunteered at the church thrift shop. She enjoyed cutting out newspaper articles to share with her family. Marlee also loved to read, garden and being outside feeding the birds and squirrels. She enjoyed watching Disney movies and the Hallmark shows, as well as keeping up with people on Facebook. Most of all, Marlee loved her family and enjoyed her time with them, especially while cheering them on at their school activities.

     Marlee died on Monday, July 12, 2021, at her home in Woodbine, at the age of 69 years, three months and eight days, after having battled systemic scleroderma for over 25 years.

     Marlee was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mary Haworth. She is survived by her daughter, Melanie and her husband Mike Freund of Dunlap, Iowa; three grandchildren, Caitlyn and her husband Johnnie Sims of Des Moines, Iowa, Paul and Joseph Freund; great-grandson, Johnnie Sims, III; five siblings, Dwight Haworth and his wife Ann of Papillion, Nebraska, Al Haworth and his wife Gladys of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Marchele Haworth and her husband Steve Dunn of Grinnell, Iowa, Marliss and her husband Larry Rockwell of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Marilyn Haworth and her significant other Charlie Johnsen of Woodbine, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
