Greetings all! How I love and treasure the memories of growing up together. Even tho my family moved to CA half way thru our Sophmore year, you all granted me the honorary status of ALHS graduate. I didn't attend my own graduation in CA, because for one, I didn't know anybody and for two, it wasn't the hip thing to do. I mean we were all getting stoned and tripping on alternative life styles. It was a terrible shock to leave CB and all of you. My family landed in LA in 1969. As far as the eye could see, it was housing developments, strip malls, environmental degradation, drugs, sex and rock and roll. Total alienation! The hippie thing was in full swing and I understandbly got caught up in it. I didn't go for the sex part of it. I was a late bloomer in that department. In my senior year, my best friend commited suicide. I watched as my father, a doctor, as you may remember, tried to revive him. He died right in front of me. I begged my parents to let me leave the country and went to live in Europe for one year. I spent several months in Paris where my aunt and 2 girl cousins lived.
