Gerald A. Walker, 29, Route 4, died at his home Thursday, September 10,
1981. Dr, Samuel Ross, county medical examiner said today death was due
to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He was a lifelong resident of
Council Bluffs, graduated in 1970 from Abraham Lincoln High School, and
was engaged in farming and livestock.
Survivors include his
father, Norman Walker; mother, Mary Roush; two borthers, John and Dick
Walker; three sisters, Teresa Drummond, Norma Petersen and Mary
Holdapp, all of Council Bluffs; grandmother, Charlotte Leggio of
Council Bluffs and Hannah Reineke of Des Moines.
Services will
be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Beem-Belford Funeral Home. The Rev.
Michael Churchman, chaplain at Mercy Hospital, will officiate.
Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
A wake service will be at 8 tonight at Beem-Belford Funeral Home.

Jerry Walker was the giggle behind the
glasses. Nobody ever really knew what
it was that Jerry found so amusing. But
maybe he was just a happy guy. I know
he made us that knew him happy to be around him. Jerry’s short life is a perfect example of quality of life. He
made the years he was with us happy for him and for us by his constant positive
spirit. To have that constant what
seemed to be inner happiness will be a gift many of us may never know. And we are grateful he did.
