Benjamin H. Crowder, age 65, of Glenwood, Iowa, formerly of Cheyenne,
Wyoming, passed away December 21, 2017, at his home after a courageous
battle with cancer. Ben was born April 6, 1952, in Council Bluffs,
Iowa, to Calvin C. and Helen (Tranda) Crowder. He graduated from
Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln High School in 1970. Ben married Mary
Lou Rosman on October 15, 1971. They were blessed with two children,
David and Michelle. Ben and his family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in
1978 and lived there until moving back to Council Bluffs in 2014. He
was an engineer for the UPRR for 43 years, retiring in 2012. Ben was a
member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Council Bluffs; member of the
UTUE and NARVE. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle
Crowder in 2006; and his father, Calvin C. Crowder in 2012. Ben is
survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Lou Crowder; son, David B.
Crowder both of Glenwood, Iowa; mother, Helen Crowder of Council
Bluffs; other family and many friends.
